Looking out on Whistler

I’ve done some big mountain skiing, in 2004 I went over to Switzerland and skied in the Alps, but this was the first time I had my snowboard on truly good snow. Getting off the T-bar at the top of Blackcomb felt like I was in a blizzard but as we rode down off the glacier it opened up into this high alpine area called 7th Heaven. Here was was sunshine poking through clouds. It had a great view and lots of heavy powder. Awe is the only appropriate way of describing these mountains and we ended up just sitting for a little while and taking in the scenery. Days like this make it hard to go home.
