musings of a peripatetic

Dear < s-k > tools

I’m not a big guy, pretty small actually. So I think that your tools should be stronger than I am. The reason I bring this up is that manure spreader got a flat tire, so my uncle and I jacked it up and he went to get another tire while i started loosening the lugs. Now manure spreaders carry a lot of weight so there are a lot of lugs, 12 actually at 1 1/8″ with fine threads. I’m not sure if they’ve ever come off before because every single one was frozen. I broke all of them loose except for the last one. It was pretty tight so I sprayed on some wd-40 and had at it with a 1/2″ drive socket wrench. I was torqueing the lug pretty good when my socket extension sheered off. So the question I have is, how much torque should I expect your tools to take.
Sincerely yours,
-Nate
